亞太地區最重要的「國際電腦教育應用學術研討會（ICCE）」與國內最大規模的「國際電腦輔助教學研討會（ICCAI）」兩會議，在教育部及國科會等單位贊助下，將由國立清華大學主辦，於西元2000年十一月假台灣台北圓山飯店聯合盛大舉行。
ICCE是由我國推向國際化的一項學術會議，該會前三屆在台灣舉行，分別由師範大學（1989）、淡江大學（1991）、中央大學（1993）辦理。在前三屆主辦學校的努力下，會議成果展現優良，深受國際人士的重視。自第三屆之後成立AACE（Association for the Advancement ofComputing in Education）的亞太分會（Asia-Pacific Chapter, APC）（http://www.apc.src.ncu.edu.tw），並由此分會主導，輪流由亞太地區之國家承辦，其間辦理國家有新加坡（1995）、馬來西亞（1997）、中國大陸（1998）以及日本（1999）。以今年十一月初剛在日本舉辦過的ICCE99為例，與會人士超過500人，來自40多個不同國家，發表論文數400餘篇。該會議發展至今，已成為亞太地區極重要的電腦在教育應用上的學術會議，亦形成一年一度世界性的學術論壇，對於促進資訊科技在教育上的應用，特別是對亞太地區，有莫大的貢獻，也引起各國政府對資訊教育政策制度及推行之重視！
2000年是我國的資訊年，ICCE與ICCAI 2000聯合學術會議重回台灣舉行，有其劃時代之意義。誠摯邀請國內學者、專家與教師能把近年來以資訊科技提昇教學之研究成果展現於本次聯合學術會議上，歡迎各界踴躍投稿及參加。
